Chinese Vessel Rescued 3 Missing Pinoy Fishermen

A Chinese vessel rescued three Filipino fishermen Sta. Ana, Cagayan last Tuesday. The three fishermen were reported missing since last week. 

According to one of the survivors named Jomar Anama, their boat was destroyed by big waves while they were fishing in the Pacific Ocean near the coast of their hometown when a passing Chinese vessel and rescued them. The incident took on Sunday and the three were turned over to the Coast Guard District-Bicol last Wednesday.

They were taken care inside the registered Hong Kong vessel which is owned by Philhua Shipping Inc. for three days. They were given foods and clothings while they were in the custody of Chinese seamen.
Anama narrated, before they were rescued by the Chinese fishing vessel which is MV Xin Hai He,  he and his associate fishermen Rizaldo Adriano, 22, and Jeffrey Jimenes, 24, clung to what remained of their boat just  to keep afloat  trying to survive.  They remained in afloat position for nearly three hours before they were seen by the Chinese Vessel.  At first endeavor to catch the vessel attention, the vessel failed to see them, but on the second attempt, they were finally noticed by the vessel’s crew.
The three fishermen were turned over by the Chinese vessel in Matnog, Sorsogon in good condition reported by Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Albay.“They have no injuries, can walk and are in good health,” said Coast Guard District Bicol operations officer Maria Criselda Borais.
Borais said the Chinese ship was on its way to deliver cargo in Legazpi City port and fetched the rescued fishermen.Sta. Ana town Mayor Darwin Tobias said he would extend  his help to the fishermen and allow them to go home. Currently,  the three fishermen are under the custody of  Coast Guard District Office in Legazpi City in Albay anticipating for their transportation to go home.
