Saab is ready to meet Philippines combat aircraft requirement

Showing its great determination to join the exhibit, Saab a Swedish aerospace and defense company, formerly known as SAAB, and later as Saab AB is arranging itself as an early challenger to meet the Philippine Air Force's (PAF's) anticipated requirement to acquire a multiple role combat aircraft (MRCA) platform.


In an exhibit held in Manila, Philippines in the middle of July, the Swedish group presented its JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft. The exhibit was the inaugural Asian Defense, Security & Crisis Management (ADAS).
JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft is capable of performing an extensive range of air-to-air, air-to-surface and reconnaissance missions employing the latest weapons

The  executive vice president of  Saab Asia Pacific Mikael Olsson, told IHS Jane's on 31th of  July that despite the PAF has not yet formerly announced the MRCA programme, Saab is ready to meet the prerequisite with the Gripen aircraft and help the PAF boost  the benefits of operating the multirole fighter.
