Local Aviation Sector Is Hoping To Produce More Philippine Assembled Planes


MANILA, Philippines —Philippines’s assembled RP-S512  plane is now being promoted by the Department of Science of Technology as the artwork for the growth potential of the aviation sector. The locally assembled plane comes in  light sport  design and was advertised by a local manufacturing company.

The RP-S512 is a two-seater is assembled by Famous Secret Precision Machining, Inc. (FSPMI) which is a local aerospace manufacturer. According to FSPMI marketing head, Jun Ramos,  they have the full confidence that the Philippine’s aviation manufacturing industry will fly in the near term  hoping the country to be the next plane manufacturing spot for airospace for the next two years.

Philippines has increasing potential for the aerospace manufacturing as various big players in the industry have been recently built the Aerospace Association of the Philippines. Ramos said that for their company alone, they are getting high demands so they are likely to increase their production  to produce half percent of their manufacturing in the next five years.

The  (DOST) Metals and Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) at present,  is giving full support to other local aviation manufacturers in attaining quality assurance standards.

Lina Afable, DOST-MIRDC chief of the technology information section, said that the training program already started last year and now have  about 8  running companies. There is a also a greater possible for this industry to produce more jobs for  the Filipinos.
The  RP-S512 is the second fully assembled plane by FSPMI, as the first unit has been delivered  to the United States.
