Cebu, City – An orthopedic doctor was shot dead
mid-morning today by his male patient in his clinic at the Sacred Heart
Hosopital. But following the patient’s
killing of the doctor, the patient also killed himself.
Dr.
Cris Cecil Abbu was shot by 72 years old man, and was recognized as Wilfredo
Sabonsolin.
Sabonsolin
was
a previous seaman and had been a patient of Dr. Abbu. Abbu succumbed to two gunshot
wounds; he was confirmed dead at 10:30 a.m.
In
the morning of that day, Sabonsolin was seen entering the doctor’s clinic while carrying a sling
bag. Police said they found Sabonsolin sitting on a wheelchair in the recovery
room of Abbu's clinic. At the crime scene, Police also found a .38 pistol and two empty shells.
Sabonsolin
has suffered from a vertebral column problem
and has been operated by Abbu twice already.
In a
radio dySS interview with Cebu City Police Office Director Noli Romana, who is
at the hospital that time, assumed that Sabonsolin's continuing treatment for
his condition may be the reason why he shoot
Abbu.
