Armalite rifle: Filipino Made it or Not?

In year 1950, Eugene Stoner has developed the AR-10 is an American 7.62 mm battle rifle then it was improvised by a division of the Fairchild Aircraft Corporation. When the old rifle was firstly presented to the public in 1956, the AR-10 used an
original straight-line barrel/stock design with phenolic combination and artificial alloy parts causing in a small arm that is easier to control in automaticfire and over 1 lb (0.45 kg) lighter than other infantry rifles of the day. From the day it was manufactured, the original AR-10 was built in reasonably small numbers, with fewer than 10,000 rifles assembled.

However, several sources said that the original armalite rifle was actually created and designed by a Filipino whose named  is Armando Malite. During the World War II, the inventiveness of the Filipinos was tested and proven when Armando’s name came out from Samar.

The US government bought the patent so that they can improve it and reproduce the weapon in bulky number. But until now, it is being unclear whether the armalite was originally invented by U.S. or Philippines and that is  because as 'urban legend' because there are no trustworthy answers posted on the Web.

Yet, in our CAT (Citizen's Army Training) in high school and CMT/ROTC (Citizen's Military Training) in college, it was taught to us by our armed forces officers for the two-year military science that the armalite was first invented by a Filipino. The opinions regarding the accuracy of the subject can be read in many links that surface in the internet.
