After the U.S. claimed that it was a "dangerous" Chinese jet intercept of a U.S. Navy patrol plane, U.S. called for a meeting with China which will tackle the rules of behavior, at Pentagon next week, a U.S. official said.
The incident happened when a Chinese fighter pilot flew acrobatic maneuvers circled around the U.S. Navy's P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine and reconnaissance plane, moving over and under it in international aerospace over the South China Sea, the Pentagon said.
A U.S. official said that the jet flew wingtip-to-wingtip about 9 meters from the Poseidon, then exhibited a barrel roll over the top of it. The U.S.Defense official also said that there were close interceptr occured in March, April and May.
Philippines and Vietnam which happened to be U.S. allies, are among the countries that China are making dialogues with regards to the claim of territories such as mineral-rich water off the Southern Coast and the East of mainland Southeast. With the continuous expand of China's economic interest, it was said to have more interactions with the U.S. military.
U.S. officials who will attend are Rear Admiral James Foggo and Asst. Deputy Chief of U.S. Naval operations. On the other hand, no Chinese officials are yet enlisted.
