Gov't Sets Pagasa Airstrip Upgrade

Rancudo Strip, which is an integral part of Pagas island is going to be repaired and upgraded as updated by the Department of foreign Affairs and Philipines Air Force. This decision came at a very crucial time, at a time when the government has already called for moratorium. The decision has received a wide applause from the army personnel but the opposition is leaving no point to
criticize.

Spokesperson Charles Jose said, “We are not trying to violate DOC, and we had occupied this arena before the new set of rules was imposed”. The government and army seem to be in full mood of taking over the protection of area and make it a safer place to live.

He also added, “Philippines have been faithful since the time we signed the DOC in 2002”. The first round of repairing is about removing the old turfs and placing new turfs in their places in order to restore strength. In the second stage they plan to repair the air-strip actually. It happens to be the responsibility of PHP480 million to repair and upgrade Navy and Air Force in Pagas Island. Various firms have tried to grab the deal and one firm has successfully grabbed and deal and is working with government to get it repaired it by the end of the year.

While China is active on the boundaries and is attracting Filipino to come and join their group of Islands.
