India launches its first home-built anti-submarine: the Kamorata

India revealed the country's first home-built craft, an anti-submarine to rule out China's underwater scouts near the shore. Its kind can carry helicopters, and immerse in surface and aerial fights for countering possible attacks.


Defense Minister Arun Jaitley commissioned the 3, 300-tonne INS Kamorta of the southeastern part of Vishakapatnam, and according to Admiral Raja Menon, it was named after an island that served as a convict settlement in the 1800's. "No one dares to cast an evil glance at India," as India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi 

introduced the largest locally built guided-missile destroyer and obliged to boost the 

country's defences. "I am sure INS Kamorta will serve this country effectively for a very long time," said 

Jaitley. " Taylor Fravel, a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology said that China's patrols is not due to some hostility, but because of its economic interests in the Indian Ocean, as a lot of trade passes through.
