Presidential spokesman
Edwin Lacierda made the statement after reports that MILF Vice Chairman
Ghadzali Jaafar made his statement about
BBL. Ina report, Jaafar cautioned that some of their commanders and members may
return to armed fight if the BBL is not submitted to Congress within a month’s
time.
Meanwhile, Lacierna said
that both the peace panels the government and the MILF are discussing to figure
out whatever the differences they have to make sure that there will be a
proposal before the congress. The government is taking the MILF’s statement seriously, and along with government, they will going to push for the
basic-Bangsamoro Basic Law.
"We will push for a
BBL to Congress, so that whatever achievements that we have made at the signing
of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro will be maintained, preserved,
and even furthered," he said.
After four decades of
fighting between the MILF and the government, the peace deal was finally signed
on March 27 of this year. There are
almost 10,000 lives in southern part of the Philippines were affected because
of the MILf and government conflict.
