In a phone interview, Joel Butuyan said he
saw a waterspout forming in Manila Bay around 5:30 p.m. He explained how he
spotted the waterspout and how it was formed. According to him,
he saw an unusual formation over the water, which seemed like a tornado.

The waterspout or the weather occurrence
lasted for around seven minutes, however it disappeared so soon when heavy
rains started to pour down, he additionally said. Butuyan posted a photo of the
waterspout travelling over Manila Bay on his Facebook account.
Aside from Joel Butuyan’s captured photo, Milady
Ponsones of Cavite City also contributed photos showing the waterspout.
Meanwhile,
the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration
(PAGASA) said in a phone interview that
it did not monitor any weather phenomenon in Manila Bay. However PAGASA quickly
said that there is nothing to fear when we see such phenomenon like this since
the waterspouts usually happen, especially during a
thunderstorm but later it will just disappear.
