3 army wives able to contact their husbands-peacekeepers

MANILA, Philippines – The wives of three Filipino peacekeepers strongly believe that their husbands were completely safe amid the continuous trade of gunfire and clash between the rebels and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
While S/Sgt. Noli Escarcha, Cpl. Michael Corpuz and Capt. Noli Ramones were talking on the phone to their wives, Mila Escarcha, Mila Corpuz and a Mrs. Ramones, their co-Filipino peacekeepers were compacting against a superior force of al Qaeda-linked Syrian rebels in the Golan Heights.
Even in the midst of danger, her husband was thinking of her and their three children’s welfare, Mrs. Escarcha said.
“He doesn’t want me and our children to worry. I will embrace him deeply when he gets home to show him how much I love him,” she added.
Mrs. Corpuz said she was able to contact her husband before the fighting started and he assured her and their children that they were safe.
She also said she is planning a welcome gift for her husband when he returns home in October after accomplishing his tour of duty.
