Jollibee temporarily closes its 72 stores due to product limitation

Due to delivery problems the company has experienced since early in August, Jollibee Food Coop. (JFC) announced on Friday that their 72 stores were closed in the meantime. Jollibee said that most of these stores, including Man Inasal, choking and other famous brands are located in Metro Manila.

The temporary closure was initiated by limited availability of their products. JFC runs 3.2 percent of its store network nationwide and is mostly
patronized by the Filipinos. The company said the delivery problem decreased sales in the first week of the month by about 6 percent.

JFC repeated the problem was not caused by an issue on their supplies, saying it has adequate raw materials, finished products and mass production capacity to meet their daily consumers’ demand. It is a new IT system that the JFC is having a problem now.
JFC said that “the product limitation has been caused by the migration to new systems that started on August 1, 2014, which has resulted in temporary slowdown in sales order taking, product loading and dispatch of transportation."

This problem arose when they moved to the new system where they spend at least P500 million. So far this is the largest investment the company has completed in IT. The investment was  intended for the preparation of JFC for  faster business growth not only in the Philippines but in the other countries in Asia.

At the same time, JFC guaranteed its customers that they are fixing whatever the problem and plans they are presently experiencing to reopen stores in the next few days. JFC is the food service network in the Philippines, serving  2,244 restaurant outlets in the country alone  and 589 stores abroad.
